Dashboards

Widgets, views, review, and audience-specific dashboards built from your metrics.

A dashboard turns the metrics on a canvas into something you review. Each canvas has a dashboard, composed of widgets.

Widgets

A widget shows one or more metric series. Types:

  • Chart — line, area, bar, or pie over time.
  • KPI — a single headline number (e.g. current MRR).
  • Table — periods and values in a grid.

A widget draws its series from either a tracked metric (shared, catalogued) or a card on the canvas. Arrange widgets to answer a question at a glance — for the subscription business, a dashboard might pair an MRR KPI with a New vs Churned MRR line chart.

Impact badges: what's being done about a metric

A dashboard shows what is happening; Canvasm also shows what bets are active on a metric. Metric widgets carry impact badges — a compact count and status of the Strategy actions and hypotheses linked to that metric. Open the badge to see each linked item's owner, expected change, measurement window, and current status, and jump to its impact trace.

Why this matters

Reviewing a flat number tells you it moved. Reviewing a number with its linked bets tells you whether your work is what moved it.

Audience-specific views

Dashboards and shared views can be scoped to an audience so they only surface metrics that audience is allowed to see. The same canvas can therefore power a finance view, an exec view, and an external-partner view — each showing only its permitted numbers. See Group to dashboard and Groups & visibility.

Review cadence

Dashboards are where the weekly/monthly review happens: read the numbers, check the guardrails, and note what you learned. The Learn track walks through a review rhythm.
